Continuing the Conversation: A Diverse, Equitable & Inclusive Path to Transform Society and Improve the Human Experience

DescriptionSan Diego District welcomes Chukwuemeka Nwigwe, CPTA Diversity Affairs Committee Chairperson and CPTA Board member, for an evening of learning and growing with a continuing education course, how to transform society through understanding diversity, equity, and inclusion on June 29 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Cost: $20 for members, $35 for non-members, free for students
*** 50% of all proceeds from this course will be donated to APTA Minority Scholarship Fund

CEU: 2 contact hours (0.2 CEUs approved by CPTA)

Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to define Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and its relationship with Intersectionality

  2. Participants will demonstrate an understanding of Culture Competence as a necessary skill to ensure best practice

  3. Participants will be able to define and give examples of Social Determinants of Health and contributions to health inequities

  4. Participants will be able to identify and define Implicit Bias, and Microaggressions, and its impact on the health of society
