APTA Mission Statement:

The Mission of the California Physical Therapy Association is to build a community that advances the profession of physical therapy to improve the health of society through:

  • Educating the people in California about the unique attributes, benefits, and value of physical therapy;

  • Meeting the physical therapy needs of the people of California through continuous development and improvement of physical therapist education, practice and research;

  • Supporting CPTA membership to strengthen professional identity, communication, leadership, networking, business development, and political outreach

CPTA Objectives:

  • CPTA maintains a strong representation in legislative and regulatory affairs and reimbursement at the state level to ensure the interests of members and the public are represented.

  • CPTA provides an expert in reimbursement who is available to answer questions and provide timely updates on reimbursement changes and trends.

  • CPTA's print publications, website (ccapta.org) and California PT Notes keep members apprised of the latest news and information related to their profession.

  • CPTA offers numerous opportunities for PTs to voice their opinions about the future of their profession, to expand their professional network, and to enhance their expertise. With opportunities like Town Hall Meetings, District Meetings and Special Events, Continuing Education Courses and Annual Conferences, CPTA provides opportunities for physical therapy professionals to keep in contact with people who share their interests and ideals – people who care deeply about the future of their profession.

San Diego district CPTA objectives:

  1. Continuing Education:

    • Provide quality continuing education on contemporary topics in the field of physical therapy in the San Diego Area. 

  2. Community Outreach and Promotion

    • Organize and promote community outreach events which promotes the physical therapy profession in the San Diego Area. 

  3. Professional Networking

    • Provide professional networking opportunities for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and students in the San Diego area. 

  4. Leadership

    • Facilitate leadership opportunities within the San Diego area and in the greater physical therapy association.
